PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotation detection system which restrains the influence caused by the variations in the arrangement position of a magnetic sensor and which has a simple structure. SOLUTION: The rotation system includes a substrate 1: magnetic sensors 2a, 2b mounted on the substrate 1; a rotated body 3, with the substrate 1 arranged rotatable about an axis perpendicular to the surface of the substrate 1, and is formed of a magnetic material; and a single-pole magnet 4 attached to the rotated body 3. The magnetic sensors 2a, 2b have a magnetoresistance effect element having a magnetization-fixed layer and a magnetization-free layer. The magnetization free layer is magnetized through a magnetic field in a direction parallel to the surface of the substrate 1, and the detection of rotation is performed through an angle difference, between the magnetization of the magnetization-fixed layer and the magnetization of the magnetization-free layer.
