A method for detecting or quantifying wheat-specific DNA in a sample of interest by a polymerase chain reaction, which comprises the steps of: amplifying a nucleic acid having a partial sequence of the nucleotide sequence represented by SEQ ID NO:1 using a nucleic acid contained in the sample or a nucleic acid extracted from the sample as a template and using a pair of primers that enable the amplification of the partial sequence; and detecting or quantifying the amplified nucleic acid.
