PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a traveling body which autonomously travels based on magnetic navigation, from losing its location. SOLUTION: This invention relates to a method for causing a traveling body to autonomously travel while comparing environmental magnetic data obtained by measuring in advance magnetism generated along a traveling route of a traveling body from an origin to a destination, with actual magnetism obtained by measuring magnetism generated along the traveling route when the traveling body travels along the traveling route. The environmental data includes at least a first environmental magnetic data group and a second environmental magnetic data group. The first environmental magnetic data group and the second environmental magnetic data group are measured with a space arranged between them in a width direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the traveling body.
