PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus including a movable liquid crystal monitor shifted from a non-photographing state to a photographing state by a single operation, and locating the center of a display surface to the vicinity of the optical axis of a lens in the photographing state. SOLUTION: The imaging apparatus is equipped with: a camera body; and a display part 104 pivoted on a rotary shaft Y formed in the vicinity of a tangent between the side face and back face of the camera body and shiftable from the side face of the camera body to the back face of the camera body around the rotary shaft Y. The display part 104 is thereby shifted from the non-photographing state to the photographing state by the single operation, and in the photographing state, the center of the display surface of the movable liquid crystal monitor 104 is located in the vicinity of the optical axis L of the lens.
