PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent damage by bottom hitting by preventing stretching of a lifting cylinder to an upper limit position in a garbage collection vehicle in which a garbage throwing-in box turnably provided on a rear part of a garbage storage box can be turned from a closure position to an opening position by the lifting cylinder. SOLUTION: The garbage collection vehicle includes a control device CO for turning the garbage throwing-in box; an expandable/contractable cylinder C1 for forcedly turning the garbage throwing-in box; and a timer T for measuring a time when the garbage throwing-in box is turned from the closure position to the opening position by a predetermined angle. The control device CO controls the expandable/contractable cylinder C1 so as to stop the release action of the garbage throwing-in box 3 when the time measured by the timer T is passed.
