PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To shorten the time for recovery from communication interruption, and to simplify procedures required for communication setting of a novel ONU. SOLUTION: The present invention relates to a GEOPON system connecting an OLT 12 and a plurality of ONUs 14<SB>1</SB>-14<SB>N</SB>via an optical fiber while interposing a photocoupler. The OLD includes a communication setting table 36 for correspondingly storing a specific station-side identification number M, which is given to each of the ONUs, different from an LLID, an LLID of the ONU and communication setting information of the ONU. Each of the ONUs includes an identification number-generating section 62 for generating a subscriber-side identification number (m) that is equal to the station-side identification number M.
