PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a product sample display device of an automatic vending machine that allows a user to easily display a product sample, lay out the product sample at an arbitrary position, and effectively illuminate the product sample, without drastic modification. SOLUTION: The product sample display device is configured to freely lay out product samples 8 in a product display chamber 3, and includes: layout members 10 equipped with engagement sections extending in a horizontal direction as stages for displaying product samples and formed at equal pitches in the horizontal direction, and arranged in a plurality of stages at equal intervals in a vertical direction on a middle door; a holder 12 equipped with an engagement section to be engaged with or separated from the engagement section of each of the layout members so as to be detachably mounted on each of the layout members 10, and configured to individually place the product samples 8, and to hold a product information display body for displaying at least numbers for selecting the product samples 8; and an illumination light source 70 equipped with an engagement section to be engaged with the engagement section of each of the layout members to be detachably mounted on the layout members. The product samples 8 are laid out at arbitrary positions of the product display chamber 3, and the product samples 8 are illuminated by the illumination light source 70.
