PURPOSE: A semiconductor storage system and control method thereof which flexibly manage reserved area are provided to conveniently perform a control of a semiconductor storage system by selecting and substituting a block of a reserved area by using a plurality of pointers. CONSTITUTION: A flash memory area(150) includes a plurality of memory blocks. The flash memory area includes blocks corresponding to error blocks for a replace. A memory controller(140) controls error blocks to replace the blocks for a replace. The error blocks includes a correctable blocks and incorrectable blocks. The memory controller determines whether the error blocks is the correctable blocks or the incorrectable block or not.
