<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a road illumination equipment-lighting control system which can give illumination enough to secure visibility necessary for driving an automobile without consuming unnecessary power. <P>SOLUTION: The road illumination equipment-lighting control system includes: an imaging means for imaging a travelling vehicle on a road to be illuminated from a front or rear direction; and an arithmetic processing unit for collecting image information obtained at a predetermined time interval from the imaging means. The arithmetic processing unit calculates a lighting on/off value indicating lighting and lighting-off of a head lamp or tail lamp of the vehicle travelling at an imaged point, based on the image information. When the lighting on/off value indicates the lighting of the head lamp or tail lamp, illumination is turned on, and when indicating the lighting-off of the head lamp, the illumination is turned off. The lighting on/off value may be presented by a ratio of vehicles which light the head lamp or tail lamp, or a ratio of vehicles which turn off the head lamp or tail lamp out of vehicles travelling at the image point. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
