<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sealing apparatus and a sealing method capable of obtaining high sealing quality in heat seal processing with a comparatively simple constitution. <P>SOLUTION: The sealing apparatus 1 includes two working rolls 20 and 30 which are disposed opposite to each other in a transfer path 10 of a workpiece 90, and rotationally driven. The workpiece 90 is transferred between both rolls 20 and 30 through the transfer path 10 to form a sealing portion 94 extending in a direction intersecting the workpiece 90 in the transfer direction X at a predetermined position of the workpiece 90. The transfer path 10 includes guiding means 40 for guiding the workpiece 90 after pressed by the two working rolls 20 and 30 to one working roll 20 side out of the two working rolls 20 and 30.
