<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a honeycomb structure capable of suppressing ammonium slip while maintaining the performance of cleaning NOx, and suppressing the enlargement of a set space for a SCR system, and an apparatus for cleaning exhaust gas. <P>SOLUTION: The honeycomb structure 10 has a honeycomb unit 11 containing zeolite and an inorganic binder, and keeping a plurality of through holes 11a arranged in the longitudinal direction in parallel on the other sides of septal walls 11b.
