<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent generation of uneven brightness on recording paper by suppressing fluctuation of a voltage applied to a thermal head. <P>SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 100 includes the thermal head 201 for adding gloss to an arbitrary area of a conveyed recording paper by applying heat to each line, and an operation unit 505 for setting a gloss addition area on the recording paper.
