PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for monitoring fuel leakage in a fuel burner, and a monitoring device capable of easily detecting fuel leakage with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In this method for monitoring the fuel leakage in the fuel burner 1 in which the base side of an annular cap 13 is fastened to a nozzle body 2, and a nozzle chip 4 is pressed and fixed to the nozzle body 2 by a shoulder section 14 disposed at the tip side of the cap 13, in the fuel burner 1 in which the fuel is supplied from a fuel passage 6 formed on the nozzle body 2, and sprayed from a fuel spray hole 10 formed on the nozzle chip 4 to burn the fuel, the temperature of the cap 13 or a state value of the cap 13 changed due to the temperature is measured, and the measured state value of the cap 13 is compared with a threshold value determined on the basis of the temperature or state variation of the cap 13 in a normal operation of the fuel burner 1 to determine the presence or absence of fuel leakage in the fuel burner 1.
