PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission system, capable of efficiently performing software processing of a center device, by making a data transmission amount appropriate, from the point of view of the center device. SOLUTION: In a terminal, the transmitted data amount is calculated, and a request signal for setting the data transmission method to a polling method, when the transmission data amount is a certain value or more, and to a change notification method, when the data transmission amount is less than the certain value is transmitted to the center unit, so that either the polling method or the change notification method can be selected as the transmission method.
