摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrochemical element without causing an increase in an internal resistance and swelling even when the electrochemical element is exposed to a severe temperature environment such as reflow soldering. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an electrochemical element includes: an exterior can production step of drawing an austenitic stainless material to produce an exterior can; a containing step of containing a power generation element having first and second electrodes in a housing space comprising the exterior can and a sealing lid; and a sealing step of arranging an insulating gasket between the exterior can and the sealing lid and bending an opening end of the exterior can inside to seal by caulking. In the method for manufacturing the electrochemical element, the Vickers hardness of the side surface of the exterior can is higher than that of the bottom surface, the insulating gasket is rubber having a hardness of 10-100°as measured by JIS-A, and the exterior can is not subjected to annealing after the drawing.
