An entrapment detection apparatus for an opening/closing member includes an opening/closing member, a driving member configured to be moved by an actuation of a driving power source, a moving direction changing mechanism converting a moving direction of the opening/closing member in accordance with a movement of the driving member and transmitting a force directed based on the movement of the driving member to open/close the opening/closing member, a detecting portion detecting an entrapment of an object by comparing levels of a driving force of the driving power source and a threshold value, an obtaining portion obtaining an opening/closing operational force of the opening/closing member on the basis of a mechanical structure of the moving direction changing mechanism, and a modifying portion modifying at least one of the driving force of the driving power source and the threshold value so that an entrapment detection load is assumed to be constant. |
