The present invention pertains to the field of molecular tools for purifying or detecting human antibodies. More precisely, the invention provides new antibody-binding proteins derived from Sac7d and having the sequence SVKVKFLLNGEEKEVDTSKIRDVCRQGKNVKFLYNDNGKYGAGNVDEKDAPKELL DMLARAEREKK or a variant thereof. These proteins have a high affinity for human IgG, have advantageous stability properties, and do not or only weakly recognize non-human immunoglobulins. The present invention also concerns uses of said proteins, in particular for detection or capture applications.
