<p>The invention relates to a composition, in the form of a gel, comprising tranexamic acid for topical oral application to a tooth extraction site either before, during or after the tooth extraction to control dental bleeding, to treat or prevent alveolar osteitis, or to produce or maintain a blood clot. The composition may comprise additional components such as chlorhexidine, methyl cellulose, a sweetener, a flavouring agent (e.g. mint), and a preservative (e.g. potassium sorbate).</p> |
