<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display device capable of recognizing easily a fact that an image signal is not input into an input terminal (selected input terminal) through a confirmation image displayed when selecting an input terminal into which the image signal is not input. <P>SOLUTION: When an image signal is not input into an image input terminal (selected input terminal) selected by a user, a projector 10 displays a confirmation image including an image near the selected input terminal of an external apparatus connection part 70, and an image showing a terminal shape of a cable to be connected to the selected input terminal, together with a message for confirming connection of the cable to the selected input terminal.
