<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chisel holder which is persistently and firmly supported to a base member even at a high load, and also to provide a base member for receiving the chisel holder. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to a chisel holder having an insertion projection 21 and having a holding projection 25 having a chisel receptacle 26. The insertion projection 21 comprises a bearing segment, and the holding projection 25 comprises a supporting segment. The supporting segment and/or the bearing segment have two supporting faces 29 or bearing faces 21.5 which are arranged forming an angle therebetween.
