<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a current detector capable of surely realizing stability in rotation and voltage during engine idling and capable of preventing a voltage drop and improving response when an electrical load is imposed, even if a battery or generator for a vehicle degrades. <P>SOLUTION: A current detector 6 includes a battery state determination part 630 which determines a charging state and a degradation state of a battery 5, a generator performance determining part 640 which determines a degradation state of a generator 3 for a vehicle, a generation power increase determination part 602 which determines the presence of a request for increasing a generation amount from the generator 3 for a vehicle, an idling determination part 604 which determines whether or not an engine 2 is in idling state, and a generation amount suppression control part 600 which exerts control to suppress the generation amount of the generator 3 for a vehicle.
