PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To generate a high-definition image of a cross section of interest by positioning a tomographic image group.

SOLUTION: An object tomographic image group acquisition section 110 acquires a tomographic image group comprising a plurality of tomographic images and a cross section of interest setting section 130 sets the cross section of interest. A positioning section 140 performs positioning by calculating positioning parameters of the respective tomographic images on the basis of the positional relationship between the tomographic image group and the slice. A slice image generation section 150 positions the tomographic image group using the positioning parameters of the respective tomographic images to generate the image of the cross section of interest.
