PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from overlooking programs that are usually viewed on a television, if the television and a HDD recorder are separated. SOLUTION: A system for viewing and recording the television program is configured as follows: information of the program viewed by the user is stored at a side of the HDD recorder 30 by the HDD recorder 30 by means of CEC function (S11, S12, S13a); a database of the program viewed via a tuner 11 of the television side is prepared at the side of the HDD recorder 30 (S13b): a candidate program for video recording is selected by the database (S13c); the program is viewed in response to the reservation once the viewing reservation is carried out (S14); and automatic video recording is carried out (S15) to prevent overlooking of the programs.
