PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide: an in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device with reduced resistance and improved contrast ratio and brightness by forming a shared electrode and a pixel electrode by dual layers of a transparent electrode and a non-transparent electrode; and a manufacturing method of the device. SOLUTION: The in-plane switching mode liquid crystal display device includes: first and second substrates facing each other; a plurality of gate lines and data lines which are disposed on the first substrate and define a plurality of pixel regions; at least one shared electrode and pixel electrode which are alternately disposed in the pixel regions and generate a horizontal electric field and at least one of which has a multilayer structure; and a liquid crystal layer formed between the first substrate and the second substrate.
