PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic image development, containing a charge control agent which achieves rapid charging rise, forms a sharp and high-resolution image, is stable with time, and excels in environmental stability. SOLUTION: The toner for electrostatic image development includes: the charge control agent including an azo-based iron complex salt which is represented by a formula (1) (in the formula (1), R<SP>1</SP>and R<SP>3</SP>are straight or branched 3-8C alkyl groups identical to, or different from, each other, R<SP>2a</SP>, R<SP>2b</SP>, R<SP>4a</SP>, and R<SP>4b</SP>are hydrogen atoms, A+ shows m(H+)+n(K+)+p(Na+) wherein m, n, and p satisfy m+n+p=1, 0.7≤m≤1, 0≤n≤0.3, and 0≤p≤0.3), of which the specific surface area x satisfies 5≤x≤15 (m<SP>2</SP>/g), and of which the volume resistivity is 0.2×10<SP>15</SP>-7×10<SP>15</SP>(Ωcm); and a binder resin for toner.
