PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication apparatus for transmitting a correct physical address to a sink apparatus. SOLUTION: The communication apparatus (100) for receiving a CEC command conforming to CEC standards included in the HDMI standards from an external display apparatus (200) receives a first CEC command for confirming that a data transmission unit (103d) is in a state that video data suitable to device information of the external display apparatus can be transmitted to the external display apparatus, from the external display apparatus. In this case, if the communication apparatus is in a state that the apparatus information can be obtained from the external display apparatus and the external display apparatus is in a state that the video data transmitted from the data transmission unit are displayed, the communication apparatus transmits to the external display apparatus a second CEC command including the physical address of the communication apparatus which has been acquired from the apparatus information.
