PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorting device reducing impact applied to a load. SOLUTION: The sorting device 100 includes a main conveyor 110; a branch conveyor 120; a diverter 130 arranged in a position in a width direction another side of the main conveyor 110 and facing the branch conveyor 120, and being one example of a pushing object pushing a load W on the main conveyor 110 onto the branch conveyor 120 by moving from an initial position P<SB>1</SB>to a pushing position P<SB>3</SB>; a distance measuring part 140 positioned upstream of the main conveyor 110 from the diverter 130, and measuring a distance from the width direction another side of the main conveyor 110 to the load on the main conveyor 110; and a pushing object control part 150 moving the diverter 130 in different forms in a first section from the initial position P<SB>1</SB>to an intermediate position P<SB>2</SB>, and a second section from the intermediate position P<SB>2</SB>to the pushing position P<SB>3</SB>in response to the shortest distance of the load W measured by the distance measuring part 140.
