PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a toner for electrostatic latent image development which achieves high image quality and enhanced durability and renders it easier to employ countermeasures for resource saving and is non-polluting, and to provide an image forming method. SOLUTION: The toner for electrostatic latent image development is disclosed, comprising colored particles containing a binder resin, a colorant, and a release agent, and an external-additive, wherein the external additive comprises boron nitride particles exhibiting a number average primary particle size of 10 to 500 nm.
