The invention relates to a process for extracting and purifying biologically active type I atelocollagen from the heel tendons of young mammals by: pre-processing tendons as tissular sources of collagen, by the physical and mechanical defibration, physical and chemical defibrilation of tendons, enzymatic solubilization of biologically active atelocollagen, a primary purification of atelocollagen including an alkaline treatment for eliminating the possible prions, the purification by microfibrillation, the final conditioning of biologically active atelocollagen. During the carrying out of the steps, the process uses three different enzymes: tripsine for removing the cellular and tissular debris, chondroitinase ABC, for removing glycosamine glycans and pepsine for the solubilization of collagen by splitting telopeptides.
|
