The invention being proposed relates to fire-extinguishing and can be used for extinguishing especially class A fires (solid fuel substances and materials), and also forest and peat fires. The problem addressed in this invention is to increase the fire-extinguishing efficiency, the versatility of methods for feeding the fire-extinguishing solution into the centre of the fire, and the economic efficiency of said solution and fire-extinguishing method with the aid of said solution. With this aim, it is proposed to prepare the fire-extinguishing solution on the basis of a buffer solution containing buffer-forming, insulating and inhibiting substances, for which it is proposed to use borate and/or phosphate, and also calcium and/or magnesium carbonate.
