PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To process image data as much as real-timely while preventing image data continuously transferred from an imaging apparatus side to an image processing apparatus side from being defective in a virtual microscope. SOLUTION: A PC 200 generates a shutter ON command and issues it to an imaging apparatus 100 when three conditions are satisfied, a first one of which is that a PC memory 23 is empty, a second one of which is that a CMOS sensor 36 is in a waiting mode, and a third one of which is that an XYZ stage 31 is in a halting mode. In this control, the PC 200 can execute back pressure processing in which a shutter operation of the imaging apparatus 100 is halted in the case of no empty in the PC memory 23.
