PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electrophotographic toner having both of low temperature fixation properties and storage stability and having improved toner scattering properties and to provide a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: The method for producing the electrophotographic toner includes: a (step 1) for obtaining a dispersion liquid of heat treatment resin particles by holding a dispersion liquid of resin particles including a resin containing 1-50 wt.% crystalline polyester and amorphous polyester and having 0.02-2 μm volume middle particle size (D50) at a temperature T satisfying formula 1:(the melting point of the crystalline polyester-35) (°C)<T<the melting point of the crystalline polyester (°C) for 1 hr or more; a (step 2) for obtaining a dispersion liquid of aggregated particles by aggregating the heat treatment resin particles in the dispersion liquid of the heat treatment resin particles obtained in the step 1; and a (step 3) for uniting the aggregated particles in the dispersion liquid of the aggregated particles obtained in the step 2.
