Provided is a negative electrode for a lithium ion secondary cell, which has excellent cycle performance as a result of preventing an active material from peeling or falling off of a collector. The negative electrode is provided with a collector (1), and an active material layer (6) in which a conductive assistant (3) and an active material (2) are affixed to the surface of the collector (1) via a binder (4) comprising a resin having an alkoxy group-containing silane-modified site. The surface of the active material (6) is treated with a surface treatment agent represented by a general formula; the general formula being X-Si(CH3)n-(OR)3-n. (In the formula, n represents 0, 1, or 2, OR represents a methoxy group or an ethoxy group, and X represents a methoxy group, an ethoxy group, or a vinyl group.) |
