An information processing apparatus according to the present invention includes an acquisition unit for acquiring the name of a file to be transmitted to a server; a determination unit for determining, in a case where the server has received a file having a name identical with that of a file that has already been saved in the server, whether it is possible to save the received file in a condition distinguished from the already saved file; and a control unit for controlling, in a case where the determination unit determines that it is possible to save the received file in a condition distinguished from the already saved file, so that the name of the file that has been acquired by the acquisition unit is transmitted, without being changed, to the server together with the file to be transmitted. |
