The PC repeats transmission of an operation mode indication signal, that is, transmission processing by bringing a first one line signal into a High-state in a vertical blanking period of a Y signal, when it is operated in the stand-by mode. When the LCD device is operated in the normal display mode, it receives the video signal which is output by the PC, and detects the operation mode indication signal, that is, a signal level for the first one line in the vertical blanking period of the Y signal.
