PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an observation image without irregularities even when movement occurs at the distal end of a scope in a scanning endoscope apparatus. SOLUTION: In the scanning endoscope apparatus which spirally scans illuminated light, a difference between the pixel signal of a G component of the previous frame period and the pixel signal of a G component of the present frame period is detected for each pixel. When a difference pixel ratio is≥70%, it is determined that there is the movement of the distal end of the scope where discontinuous intermittent images are produced, and weighting addition is performed to the image signal of the previous frame period and an image signal to be constituted of the pixel signal of the present frame period.
