PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enlarge a mounting space of a relief valve in a lubricating device for feeding oil to respective parts of an internal combustion engine by an oil pump arranged at a timing chain cover. SOLUTION: A feed oil passage for feeding oil discharged from an oil pump 2 to an oil filter and a return oil passage for returning the oil from the oil filter and a chain cover oil passage (TCC oil passage 11) for feeding the oil to a main gallery 101 are arranged, an outlet 62a of the return oil passage for returning the oil from the oil filter and an inlet 11a of the TCC oil passage 11 are connected by a communicating oil passage 63 provided for an oil pan 6, and the oil pump 2 and the relief valve 3 are arranged between the inlet 61a of the feeding oil passage and the TCC oil passage 11. With this structure, the chain cover oil passage 11 can be arranged at a suction side (a suction passage 22 side) of the oil pump 2 and the mounting space of the relief valve 3 can be enlarged.
