PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a wireless pointing system using the same are provided to implement an additional function using light which is emitted from a light source. CONSTITUTION: A backlight unit(1) of a liquid crystal display device comprises a frequency oscillator(2) which creates a plurality of carrier signals, a driving unit(3) including a second driving module(32) which creates a second driving signal by combining a second carrier signal with a static current signal and a first driving module(31) which creates a first driving signal by combining a first carrier signal with the static current signal, a light source(4) which emits lighting signal by being controlled by the driving unit.
