PURPOSE: A wheel brake and an operating method thereof are provided to operate a wheel brake with an electro-mechanical method in normal times and with a hydraulic method in case of a failure. CONSTITUTION: A wheel brake comprises a frictional brake lining(2) and two dual actuating devices. The frictional brake lining is pressed against a brake body by the actuating devices in order to stop the rotating brake body. One actuating device(6) is an electro-mechanical type while the other actuating device(5) is a hydraulic type. A wheel brake(1) comprises and energy storage unit(7) which stores energy when releasing the wheel brake and outputs energy to support the operation of the wheel brake. |
