1,010,442. Haymaking machines. C. VAN DER LELY N.V. May 1, 1962 [June 7, 1961], No. 16721/62. Heading AlF. In a rake-wheel having circumferential tines 4, the tines are connected to the body of the rake-wheel by supports 6, the tines and their supports being arranged in integral pairs 4, 5, 6, 7, (Fig. 2) the arrangement being that when a tine is in the lowest position on the wheel the portion 8 of the corresponding support to which it is integrally joined is inclined to the vertical and wherein means are provided which prevent the tines and adjacent parts of the support from being displaced outwardly of the wheel by more than a fixed distance. In Figs. 1 and 2 each support 6 is bent back, at 10, is clamped to the wheelrim 3 at 11, is bent again, at 18 and 20, to form a horizontal portion 21 which joins symmetrical portions attached to the other tine 5. The horizontal portion 21 constitutes the stop preventing excessive outward movement of the parts 4, 5, 6. In Fig. 10, the supports 85, 86 are mounted within the rim 101 and include loops 91, 92 the interconnecting portion being bolted to the rim at 100 and constituting a stop. In Fig. 16, the tine-supports 198, 211, are perpendicular to the rim 3 and include a W-shaped part 204, 205 which acts as a stop for the tines 196, 212. In Fig. 21, the wheel is rimless, the flat spokes 264, 265 meing Y-shaped and having limbs 266, 267 to which supports 273 for tines 274 are bolted, the tines and supports being of double hairpin-shape and having portions 276 which pass through slots (not shown) in the lower ends 268, 269 of the spokes. In Fig. 24 a zig-zag rim 282 is supported by double spokes 279, 280 bolted to it by a clamp 286, the portions 289 beyond the clamp forming the supports for the tines 291 and passing through elongated slots in the vertical portions 283 of the rim. In Fig. 28 the wheel-rim 102 is supported by spokes 104, each of which is bolted, through the rim, to the doubled end of a support 304 terminating at its other ends in tines 305. Excessive movement of the tines is prevented by chains 310 connecting the supports 304 to the rim 102. Specification 1,010,443 is referred to. |
