<p>PURPOSE: An energy storage system and a control method thereof are provided to directly supply DC power stored at a battery or generated DC power to a load without DC/AC or AC/DC conversion. CONSTITUTION: An MPPT(Maximum Power Point Tracking) converter(111) converts power generated from a renewable power generation system(130) and outputs the converted power to a first node. The renewable power generation system outputs electric energy to a power management system(110). A utility system(140) supplies power to a battery(120) or load(150) according to the on/off of a first switch(116) and a second switch(117). The battery stores power supplied from the solar power generation system or utility system. A load consumes power supplied from the battery or utility system.</p> |
