A composition comprises a linear polyalpha-olefin and a soluble polymer of regular structure and obtained by polymerizing an alkyl ester of formula R-CH=CH-CH=CH-COOR1 wherein R is H, alkyl or aryl and R1 is C1 to C4 alkyl. Specified polyolefins are the polymers of propylene, butene, 4-methylpentene and styrene, in particular isotactic polypropylene. The polymer of the alkyl ester may be polymethyl sorbate or polybutylsorbate and may be of stereoregular structure, e.g. of isotactic, diisotactic or erythro-diisotactic structure. The compositions may be formed into fibres which may be dyed preferably after partial or complete saponification followed by acidification, and/or after cross linking by vulcanization with ultra accelerators or by treatment with glycols.
