PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display device and a method for fabricating the same are provided to reduce driving power by placing a common electrode and a pixel electrode perpendicularly and forming a mesh shape. CONSTITUTION: A plurality of pixels are defined by a plurality of gate lines(103) formed on a first substrate and data lines(104). TFTs(Thin Film Transistors) are arranged in each pixel. One or more common electrode(105) is arranged in the pixels in parallel with the data lines. One or more pixel electrode(107) is perpendicularly arranged in the pixel in parallel with the common electrode. The pixel electrode forms an electric field with the common electrode.
