<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of preventing the apparatus from unexpectedly stopping or an output value of an optical density detection means from being out of an adequate control target value even when the output value of the optical density detection means is varied. <P>SOLUTION: This image forming apparatus detects a density of a toner image 50 for controlling an image formation condition formed on a detection medium 6 by using the optical density detection means 207 and controls the image formation condition on the basis of the result obtained by correcting the output value of the optical density detection means 207 by using an output value of a reference reflection plate 60. The image forming apparatus is equipped with a control means 201 that performs the controlling by replacing the output value of the reference reflection plate 60 with an another predetermined value when the output value of the reference reflection plate 60 of the optical density detection means 207 is out of a prescribed range. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT |
