PURPOSE: A monitoring camera apparatus and an image data processing method are provided to crop the ROI of a predetermined size and transmit the cropped ROI after the high definition photographing of a monitoring region. CONSTITUTION: An ROI(Region Of Interest) selection unit(22) selects ROI with the global search of the output source image frame of an image sensor. A cropping unit(24) crops an area having a size suitable for transmission capacity from the source image frame on the basis of the selected ROI. An output unit(26) transmits image data corresponding to a cropping area to a remote image system.
