The device (1) has a driving unit driving a rotor. A counter knife assembly includes two counter knife bars that extend parallel to a rotor axis and parallel to each other and arranged one above the other in a rotor direction. The knife bars are arranged for radial displacement with respect to the rotor axis by a mutually different amount using an adjustment mechanism for compensating wear at a shredding tool and/or the counter knife assembly. A cylindrical counter knife traverse (200) is detachably fixed to a machine housing (20) of the device in which the counter knife bars are fixed. An independent claim is also included for a process for operating a shredding device. |
