<p>New polymers comprise ammonium or metal N-sulfoalkylacrylamide units (I), organoammonium N-sulfoalkylacrylamide units (II) and 0-8 wt.% crosslinking units derived from monomers with at least two olefinic double bonds. New polymers comprise ammonium or metal N-sulfoalkylacrylamide units of formula (I), organoammonium N-sulfoalkylacrylamide units of formula (II) and 0-8 wt.% crosslinking units derived from monomers with at least two olefinic double bonds. CH 2-CHR 1>-CONHASO 3Q (I) CH 2-CHR 1>-CONHASO 3X (II) R 1>H, Me or Et; A : 1-8C alkylene; Q : H (0-50 mole%) and M (50-100 mole%); M : NH 4, Li, Na, K, Ca, Mg, Zn or Al; X : HNR 5>R 6>R 7>; R 5>-R 7>H, 1-22C alkyl, 2-22C alkenyl, 6-22C alkylamidopropyl, 2-10C hydroxyalkyl or 3-10C dihydroxyalkyl, but no all H, such that XCl has a critical micelle concentration of less than 15 g/l. The molar ratio of (I:Q=M) to (II) is 97:3 to 55:45. INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are also included for: (1) producing the polymers by dissolving or dispersing the sulfonic acid CH 2=CHR 1>-CONHASO 3H in an erotic solvent, neutralizing the sulfonic acid with a M-containing base and an amine XH, optionally adding a crosslinker, and adding a radical initiator; (2) cosmetic, pharmaceutical or dermatological compositions containing the polymers.</p> |
