PURPOSE: A method and an apparatus for varying a current limit to limit an output power of a power supply unit are provided to limit current by detecting input voltage detection signal. CONSTITUTION: In a method and an apparatus for varying a current limit to limit an output power of a power supply unit, an input voltage sensing input(175) detects input voltage detection signal displaying the input voltage of the power supply unit. An output voltage sensing input(180) senses an output voltage detection signal showing the output voltage of the power supply apparatus. The driving signal generator generates a driving signal in response to a current limit signal. A current limit signal is proportional to the total of a first ratio and a second ratio. A current limit circuit(170) generates the current limit signal.
