PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for measuring the distance and size of an object, and a robot using the apparatus and method are provided to measure the distance and size of an object by employing the principle of animal whiskers. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for measuring the distance and size of an object comprises an elastic member(110) having a whisker shape, a moving unit(120) which is connected to an end of the elastic member and moves the elastic member to contact an object being measured, and a detection unit(130) which detects the bending angle of the elastic member.
