PURPOSE: A multi-channel brightness detecting device and method for an LED chip are provided to measure the brightness of an LED(Light Emitting Diode) chip without inter-channel correction while using multiple channels. CONSTITUTION: A multi-channel brightness detecting device for an LED chip comprises a brightness detecting unit(110), a reference brightness data determining unit(120), a correction value calculating unit(130), and a brightness value calculating unit(140). The brightness detecting unit measures the brightness of an LED chip through channels which can measure the brightness of the LED chip together and obtains measured LED chip brightness data. The reference brightness data determining unit determines reference LED chip brightness data based on the measured LED chip brightness data. The correction value calculating unit calculates an LED chip brightness correction value from the measured and reference brightness data and correction values according to channel from the LED chip brightness correction value. The brightness value calculating unit applies the correction values according to channel to the measured brightness data and outputs a corrected LED chip brightness value.
